Aluminium plate production begins with the roiling process where vast, pre-heated ingots are passed through rollers.
The rolling process forces the material into thinner forms such as plate, sheet and foil. The products are then softened in a furnace in readiness for cold rolling.
Subsequent heat treatment increases the mechanical properties of the finished plate.
