Introducing the Ovax Family of Steels

A new family of special steels from Ovako is now available from Smiths Advanced Metals. The OvaX family of steels are specifically customised for the demands of the motor racing industry and are particularly suited for the manufacture of high performance engine and gearbox components that are subjected to very high stresses and strains.

Highly sophisticated melting and refining process are used to produce a very pure steel that is chemically very clean and free from impurities. The result is a high quality steel that can be used to replace remelted steel in many applications. The Ovax family of steels is expected to be of great interest to the motorsport market because, unlike some remelted steels, this high quality is combined with very competitive pricing and short delivery times.

As well as carrying an attractive price OvaX steel possesses extremely good physical properties. The material can directly replace the remelted steel traditionally used for manufacturing components subject to very high stresses and strains.
